Once leather-hard I trimmed in the rings with tungsten carbide trimming tools. I then let them dry very slowly before bisque firing, glazing, and finally glaze firing in oxidation. These planters are glazed with a durable clear glaze on the inside to show off the rich chocolatey clay body, and a Mid-Century Dover Green decorative glaze inlaid within the trimmed rings.
